Wool
A
flock of renegade sheep has been found wandering in a far, remote corner
of New Zealand's South Island (see The Wheel issue 17, page 16 and 17).
These merino mammoths, lost in the mountains for 6-7 years, have super-long,
super-fine fleece. At 27cm (10 1/2 ins) staple length and 22 micron, this
wool is very special.
We are pleased to have obtained some of the extra-ordinary wool from owner,
David Wightman, of Winterslow Station, for you.
Ten grams of this wool, spun finely, would make a baby's bonnet or pair
of bootees.
Cost, including postage, per 10 gms NZ$5.00 (US $3.50, AUS $4.50, CAD
$4.50, Euro 3.00, GBP 2.00, Yen 375). Credit card or foreign cheques accepted.
